Evgeny Romanov clear first at 22nd BCC Open, Lalit Rohit third

GM Evgeny Romanov (MKD) won 22nd BCC Open 2025 scoring an unbeaten 7/9. IM Paulo Bersamina (PHI) scored 7.5/9 to secure second place. He also remained undefeated. Five players - GM Lalit Rohit, GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly, IM Michael Concio Jr. (PHI), FM Ern Jie Anderson Ang (MAS) and GM Nigel Short (ENG) scored 7/9 each. They were placed third to seventh according to tie-breaks. The first prize in the Open group is THB 100000. A total of 197 players including 10 GMs, 12 IMs, a WGM and 4 WIMs took part from 39 countries across the world in the Open section. The nine-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by IO Kai Tuorila at Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand from 13th to 21st April 2025. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes rest + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
