Anand tweeted - Sharing my inspired move! Folded hands Growing up in water stressed Chennai I learnt a lesson - it’s absolutely critical to conserve natural resources, we owe it to our future generations! I've joined WWFINDIA as the education ambassador. Our aim is to bring youth closer to nature.

Vishy Anand has always been trying to edify people about the environment. This is what he had to say in 2009
WWF India facebook page announced the new collaboration
On Earth day, Anand tweeted about reconnecting with the nature and protecting the environment for future generations.
Vishy Anand not only inspires us with his moves and ideas inside the 64-squares, but also with his thoughtful moves outside of the board which concerns a greater part of our universe.
Vishy Anand, like Roger Federer or Maria Sharapova, is part of "The Foundation" in India and gifted his World Championship (Match) medal to Equation.
"As a child I thought becoming World Champion would be a very cool thing. In Bonn when I won the World Championship for the third time I had a feeling of complete satisfaction. I had won the title now in every possible format. I was one of the sport’s legends. Now even the sternest critics would have to really think of what to say about me! I am very happy this medal will be used to foster equality. We win medals but here we are winning hearts and smiles. I wish the Foundation and Rahul Bose all the very best."
